The Young Women's Christian
Association of the United States of America is a women's membership movement
nourished by its roots in the Christian faith and sustained by the richness of
many beliefs and values. Strengthened by diversity, the Association draws
together members who strive to create opportunities for women's growth,
leadership, and power in order to attain a common visions: peace, justice,
freedom, and dignity for all people. The Association will thrust its collective
power towards the elimination of racism wherever it exists and by any means
possible.
Having recognized the many
ways in which peace, justice, freedom, and dignity have been denied to lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender persons, the YWCA of Berrien County includes
the Out & Affirmation Center as one of its valued programs. Other programs of
the YWCA Berrien County include:
Pricilla Byrns Developmental Center for Children
Bitty Bees Child Development Center in Bridgman
Coloma child Development Center
YWCA Health and Wellness Center
Senior Wellness/Fitness Programs
Career Clothing Closet for Women
Women and Girls' Educational Programs
